 Derrick W. (Rick) Wheeler Jr. was born and raised in Jackson County. His parents are Florene Wheeler and the late Derrick Wheeler. He lived in Pisgah until 1995 and has been a resident of Scottsboro since that time.
Rick has three daughters, Lynde Mann, Andrea Wheeler and Shana Brooke Wheeler. He attended Pisgah High School, continued his education at Northeast Alabama Junior College for two years and transferred to Jacksonville State University where he graduated with a BS degree majoring in Accounting and a minor in Management.
Rick continues to take numerous courses each year in the area of Computer Science and other CPE courses.
His work experience, all in the area of accounting consists of two years with Gant, Croft and Associates, seventeen years as accountant and finance director of Andover Togs, and the last eleven years with the City of Scottsboro as its finance director.
It has been a privilege serving the City of Scottsboro as Finance Director these last eleven years. We have accomplished many goals, have modernized all aspects of the accounting area and will continue to improve the Finance Department.
