The
City of Scottsboro is located at an altitude of 652 feet in the
northeast portion of Jackson County of the Great State of Alabama.
It is approximately 45 miles east of Huntsville, Alabama and approximately
60 miles west of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Scottsboro city limit
incorporates a 54 square mile area, with a police jurisdiction
of 200 square miles. The population consists of approximately
16,500 people. The police department has a total of 45 sworn officers
and 35 civilian employees.
