DISPATCHER

The City of Scottsboro is looking for a full time dispatcher in the 911 area. Must be flexible to work any shift. Good communication, listening and computer skills are a required. Mature judgment is needed to make effective decisions quickly. Knowledge of the Spanish language is a plus. Salary is $1763.58-2950.50 per month with City benefits. POSITION: ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER
RANGE: $2008.l7 - $3368.83/month


REQUIREMENTS/CHARACTERISTICS:
Valid Alabama drivers license and evidence of safe driving record
High School Diploma or GED certificate
Able to work any shift/day and overtime if required
Ability to understand & follow oral and written instructions
Ability to prepare detailed reports and records
Ability to write legibly, document and maintain records
Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
Ability to deal firmly and tactfully with the public
Shall meet the minimum standards of law enforcement officers as established by Alabama Law
Pass criminal background check, drug & alcohol screen written test, physical agility test and a psychological test
Candidates selected that are not State Certified Officers will be required to attend and successfully complete the 12-week Police Academy

The following is a plus in consideration for this position:
- Certification as a law enforcement officer by a duly certified law enforcement academy
- Associate degree in a related field
