The Scottsboro Municipal Airport is owned and operated by the city of Scottsboro and provides the need of facilities and service to local and itinerant aircraft.  Over 25 private, cooperative, and emergency use aircraft are currently based here.

The Scottsboro Municipal Airport is a part of the National Plan of Integrated Airports (NPIAS).  This affiliation makes the airport eligible for airport improvement program grants.  (AIP) grants come from the aviation trust fund.  The Federal Aviation Administration pays 90 percent of the cost of these grants with the city and state sharing the remaining 10 percent.  Our airport has a five year plan for future development and improvements to help keep the airport up to modern standards.

The airport office is open seven days a week and the City of Scottsboro is well represented by two part time employees and one full time employee.  All employees are private pilots or greater and are well qualified to meet and serve the needs of the aviation community.
