Councilman Terry Thomas

     Terry Thomas was elected to Place # 3 on the Scottsboro City Council on September 12, 2006. This was his first attempt to acquire public office in Scottsboro, Alabama.

After serving in the US Army from 1976-1979, Terry returned home to Sylvania, Alabama and began his career in Law Enforcement with the Rainsville Police Department. He moved to Scottsboro, Alabama from Sylvania the winter of 1980 and began working for the Scottsboro Police Department. In December, 1985 Terry joined the Alabama Department of Public Safety as an Alabama State Trooper. He is currently employed as a State Trooper.

Terry has three children, all born and raised in Scottsboro, Alabama. Terry has served this community for many years by volunteering in various ways. He was a volunteer at Caldwell School for twenty two years, coached baseball and soccer with the Scottsboro Parks and Recreation and served as Scout Master for Troop 444 for four years.

Terry's goal is to serve the people of Scottsboro as an honest, trustworthy and dedicated member of the City Council. He hopes to work with the Mayor and Council to accomplish many positive things for the City of Scottsboro in the next four years.
