Councilman Buddy Simmons

     Buddy Simmons was elected to Place #2 on the Scottsboro City Council on September 14, 2004.  This was his first attempt to acquire public office in the City of Scottsboro, Alabama. 

     Buddy was born and raised in Scottsboro, Alabama.  He is 52 years of age.  He has been married to Janie for 33 years and they have one son, Shawn. 

     Buddy graduated from Section High School and then worked with his father in the trucking business for several years, until his father’s death in 1975. 

     Buddy then began his career with the Fire Department in the City of Scottsboro in 1976.  He was a fireman for 28 years and retired as a Captain in 2004. 

     Buddy has spent most of his life serving the people of Scottsboro as a fireman and desires to continue serving the people of Scottsboro as a City Council Member.  He looks forward to working with the Council and Mayor the next four years, and hopes they will accomplish many good things for this city.
