Councilman Matthew Hodges

Matthew Hodges, age 24, is currently serving as Council Member for the City of Scottsboro in Place #5. Mr. Hodges was born in San Bernardino, California and moved to Scottsboro, Alabama before his first birthday. He is an active member of the St. Jude Catholic Church. He attended Northeast Alabama Community College and has transferred to the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he received his B.A. in Political Science and is currently working on his M.A. in Public Affairs. He currently serves as Chairman for the Knights of Columbus, serves on the Board for the Ben Sanford Boys and Girls Club and is an Eagle Scout. In July, 2002 Mr. Hodges qualified to run for Place #5 of the Scottsboro City Council and the day after his 19th birthday he won the run off by a 5 vote margin. He was re-elected to a second term in August, 2006.
